Holiday Outfit Inspo

It’s the most extra time of the year, party season!

Which mean it’s time for cute, extra sparkly outfits. Each season comes with it’s own style, and this one is one of my favorites. Holiday glam is truly the best part of winter! I’ve rounded up some of my favorite trends, and shops for this season.

Wearing black in the winter is a total statement, but paired with some sparkle. They mesh well together, giving the perfect Holiday look. Black with a touch of sparkle goes from funeral to glam. Other festive colors include, white, gold, red, and silver. That’s the color wheel you want to stick with this season.

Another major trend is anything with over the top sleeves. The 80’s are officially back! Puffy sleeves, and padded shoulders give any dress a chic look. For outfits with dramatic sleeves, a sleek pony tail or hair placed in the back would look best. You need to give the sleeves room to shine.

Blazer dresses are a mood this season. It’s the ultimate power statement. A piece of clothing that was generally associated with men. Welp, now it’s a fashion statement that symbolizes the progress females have made. Fashionably, of course. This year I have seen two piece suits, and blazers worn on the red carpet, and on the streets. It has been one of my favorite trends. One that will definitely be at all the holiday parties.

Here are some dress examples I love:

Outfits featuring Zaful

Hi loves! I was so excited to partner with Zaful to create this look book. Zaful is an online retailer that has tons of options! I also love that their site is super affordable. As a full time student that works, I can appreciate a good price! You can also get 18% with my discount code LIZ18.

I chose to create simple, everyday looks. One’s that you can either dress up, or down. Versatile pieces have easily become some of my favorite clothing options. The gray tank top has subtle details with the U line cut. That simple detail adds a chic touch. The pink top with the fluffy lining is my favorite! Doesn’t it totally give you Clueless vibes?

Now, my favorite types of shoes for the past couple season have been these white booties. This Summer they were styled with a lot of my skirts, and leading into fall, I didn’t stop! The cowgirl look has been a popular trend that I’m not ready to let go of. I plan on yehawing my way in 2020!

Postcards from Spring

Shaul & Top from Fashion Nova// Shorts Thrifted// Bag from Urban Outfitters// Boots from Charlotte Russe

Happy Spring babes! This is actually the most wonderful time of the year. Everything is blossoming, and the weather is absolutely perfect.

This look was inspired by festival season. I’ve never actually been to one, but if I ever did it would be JUST for the outfits lol. However, I do live in Southern California, so this kind of extraness is pretty typical on a fine Spring day 🙂 I’ve been obsessed with these white boots! Cowgirl details are a major trend this season. Contrary to the past year’s skin tight boot, this season’s popular trend is the wide legged type.

White is always a safe, Spring color. I wore a laced shaul with simple basics under to help exemplify the boots. Which I am clearly obsessed with. Sandals are not the only shoe you can wear when the warmer weather rolls around. Try adding a stylish boot to your Spring outfit to give it a trendy flare.

Feliz primavera chulas!

How to Style Cargo Pants

Sweater and jacket from Forever 21// Cargo pants from Fashion Nova// Shoes by Doc Martin// Bag from Dollskill

First blogged look of the year is 90’s/2000’s couture. Cargo pants are super trendy this season! They’re sold either patterned, plain or with chains. I got mine from Fashion Nova, and have worn them in various ways. In this particular look the style is grunge, street.

I don’t really like to wear any form of pants unless they’re high waisted. I suppose that is one trend from the 2000’s era that has not reemerged into the fashion world. It’s honestly just not as flattering as a higher jean might be. The pants are pretty baggy, but are also high waisted! So I paired it with a crop sweater to show that I have a waist, and that I am not a potato sack. Pairing the outfit with Doc Martins gave it the militant look I was going for.

Anytime I throw my hair up, I instantly feel empowered (so weird right?), It’s like making the statement that- yeah I have long hair, but I can put it up and get s*** done.

♡ linked the cargo pants below, I got mine in a size extra small.

Patterned Pants

Pants & Top from Fashion Nova// Boots From Nordstrom’s

If it’s not already obvious, Bratz dolls are and forever will be my fashion inspo. The fact that they do NOOOT care what’s trending and mix it up with different patterns and colors is something I’ve always admired. Also, their chunky shoes were always ADORABLE! I have pretty big sized feet for my height so they showed me big hair and big feet could be used as a fashion statement. That’s why I fell in love with these rubbery platform shoes my mom gifted me. ❤

Pattern pants are a favorite staple piece right now. Whether I dress them up or down they’ll add detail to any look. Why dress bland when there’s so much color in the world?! The pants were extremely high waisted (which I loved! Anything that highlights the waist is a must for me) so I paired it with a silky, knotted top.

Brooklyn, NY

My little California eyes were NOT ready for these NY views! I literally felt like I was strolling through a Jennifer Gardner movie. New York is really as magical as it’s depicted in film.

Dress from Naked Wardrobe// Shirt from Forever 21// Shoes Fenty by Rihanna

Layers can work ANY season! You just have to accommodate to the weather, of course. I turned this simple, black dress into a fun Summer look by just adding an undershirt. The puffy sleeves on the blouse added the right amount of detail.

My Pumas have a been a life saver this Summer! New York is ALL about walking…I walk about 6 miles a day. I don’t know how, but I do LOL. So I needed something comfy but cute to get me through life this Summer. I enjoyed the change in scenery and life style, but I was excited to see Brad soon (my 2016 Toyota Prius lol).<3

FASHION NOVA x LIZ

Shorts thrifted// Top from H&M// Shaul from Fashion Nova// Purse from Steve Madden

Summer in New York is perfect, but it’s far different from Cali. Fashion Nova recently sent me a few pieces from their swim collection and I was actually sad I wouldn’t be wearing them on California beaches this Summer. BUT then I remembered I’m in the Fashion Capital of the world, so I could definitely be creative and make use of my new goodies 🙂

The shaul is actually a Bikini cover up but it worked well with simple pieces. The shaul has lots of fine detail, with an angelic feel so I wanted everything under to be light + fresh. Be sure to check out the rest of their collection on Fashionnova.com! ❤

SPRING FEVER

Jacket, Top & Shorts Thrifted// Black Adidas All Stars Shoes// Purse from Charming Charlie

Okay so I SWEAR this almost completely thrifted look was not intentional! It’s just that a lot of my favorite pieces are thrifted. I mean you could find vintage, unique gems at such an afforadable price. Forever 21 is great and all (Like it seriously is! The prices are good and they have great staple pieces) BUT it often has over played attire that can result in you wearing exactly the same thing as everyone else.

I have nothing against Forever 21, in fact it’s one of the places I shop the most! It really is just thrilling to find diversity in clothing when thrifting.

It’s very rare when I wear all black so when I do I make sure to splash it with color! The textures and pop of red gave my outfit variety.  My shorts were thrifted from a while back and i distressed them down to shorts. It’s always so fun to buy on a bargain and design it yourself!

Me encanta comprar tan barato y customizar a mi gusto.

SCHOOL FASHION

Skirt is Thrifted// Top from Forever 21// Shoes by Vans// Jewelry from Pandora

I always feel like I am more productive when I like my outfit. I know it may sound crazy, but fashion does have power to change your mood & actions, at least for me it does 🙂 it all falls in line with the concept that when you look good, you feel good!

This is an outfit I would typically wear on a school day, because it’s light, fresh and comfortable. This adorbs polka dot skirt was thrifted and I wore it with a soft pink top to accent it. I really enjoy incorporating patterns into my outfits, because it really does add detail. Variety in patterns and textures can truly boost your wardrobe friends!
